I am a weird statistician/vision scientist who has ended up on a list of truly elite ophthalmologists.
Who is someone in ophthalmology/your subspecialty that you feel has been particularly influential over the past 10 years?
Some true giants in glaucoma research including Ted Garway-Heath, Augusto Azuara-Blanco, Jonny Crowston, Anthony King, Keith Martin, and James Morgan. Actually, the list is endless because UK glaucoma research punches well above its weight.
What would you like to see change in ophthalmology/your subspecialty over the next 10 years?
A greater emphasis in research in ophthalmology on what truly matters to the patient and vision related quality of life.
Where do you predict ophthalmology/your subspecialty will be 10 years from now?
I think we will see better methods for measuring visual function and greater connectivity of clinical data
