I used to canoe competitively.

What’s been the biggest breakthrough in ophthalmology/your specific field over the last 10 years?

The development of novel treatments – including spectacle lenses – that have been shown in randomized clinical trials to effectively slow the progression of myopia in myopic children and prevent visually disabling complications of high myopia.

What would you like to see change in ophthalmology/your subspecialty over the next 10 years – and why?

I would like to see a larger number of women in leadership and senior positions. Senior female leaders set good examples and mentor junior female faculty.

Where do you predict ophthalmology/your subspecialty will be 10 years from now?
