Roberto Zaldivar is an Argentinian doctor of ophthalmology and a refractive surgeon accredited with several breakthroughs in the use of lasers to correct visual impairments. Since 1987, he has been developing surgical techniques for phakic intraocular lenses, and implanted the world’s first implantable collamer lens in 1993. He has also been responsible for designing dozens of instruments used in ocular surgery.
